Bio:

I’m Alieu D. Moore Jr, a Liberian engineer with a deep curiosity for turning waste into something meaningful. Right now, I’m based in Bangkok, completing my MSc in Petrochemical Technology, where I spend my days in the lab trying to turn glycerol, a leftover from biodiesel production, into something genuinely useful again. That work earned me a Best Poster Award at the PETROMAT Symposium 2026, but honestly, what drives me most isn’t the awards, it’s the belief that Africa’s energy future shouldn’t be imported, it should be built by us. Back home in Liberia, I’ve spent over six years showing up for my community through environmental cleanups and youth programs with Youth for Voluntary Action and Youth Environmental Climate Action. I also run a small creative studio, ADM Creative Studios, because I believe storytelling matters just as much as science in getting people to care. I’m joining AFYEL to sharpen my voice as an energy leader and bring that future closer to home.
